CYPRESS-FAIRBANKS EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC HAS A NEW TWIST
Always searching for ways to boost fund-raising efforts for
student scholarships, the Cypress-Fairbanks Educational Foundation
(CFEF) is adding a new twist to its annual B.F. Adam Classic golf
tournament this year with a separate dinner event that will entertain
golfers and non-golfers alike.
On Saturday, May 17 CFEF will hold its first “Bogeys & Boots” dinner and auction at the beautiful Settlement House at the Northwest Forest Conference Center, 12715 Telge Road. Bridgeland is the event’s underwriter.
The following Wednesday, the foundation will hold fast to its
successful tradition of playing the greens to raise “green” for student
scholarships at the 2008 B.F. Adam Classic, a 4-person Scramble Golf
Tournament, on May 21 at the BlackHorse Ranch Golf Club, 12205 Fry Road in Cypress.
The 2008 B.F. Adam Classic Golf Tournament will be underwritten by Towne Lake a Caldwell Community. Platinum sponsor for this years tournament will be Linebarger, Goggan, Blair and Sampson, LLP.
B.F. (Bernard Fred) Adam was a lifelong Cy-Fair resident and a
devoted school board member, serving 24 years on the board. B.F. Adam
Elementary on Honey Grove Lane is named in his honor.
The golf tournament has always garnered great support from the
community, and successfully raised $ 1.1 million for student
scholarships since 1992.
The dinner event gives the annual fund-raiser an even broader
appeal, said Chris Cunico, co-chairman of the 2008 B.F. Adam Classic
committee.
“The event will create an atmosphere that will appeal to people of all tastes,” Cunico said. Linda Humphries, chairwoman of the “Bogeys & Boots” dinner and auction, said the committee is looking forward to Cypress-Fairbanks Educational Foundation’s business partners, friends and supporters and their guests coming out to enjoy the delicious dinner and amazing entertainment.
“Our community has been so generous in supporting the endeavors of the Cypress-Fairbanks Educational Foundation, but we also are aware that many businesses and individuals in the community have not yet heard about the Foundation,” said Humphries.
“This event will
be a fun evening, and all proceeds from the event will benefit the
Cy-Fair Educational Foundation’s scholarship program.”
Humphries said the Settlement House at Northwest Forest on
Telge Road is a wonderful venue and has an awesome antique bar, which
lends a boost to the event’s western theme. There will be a cash bar,
and Tin Hall is sponsoring the night’s entertainment, which will be
provided by the “Cheyenne” band. The First annual “Bogeys & Boots” will be underwritten by Bridgeland.
Reservations are required to attend the dinner and auction event, and the cost is $100 per couple.
The CFEF is searching for sponsors for the tournament and “Bogeys & Boots”. Sponsorship opportunities include:
·Food Sponsor ($3,500) – includes recognition in pre-event press releases, acknowledgement in the printed program, an announcement from the podium at the event, and four seats at the dinner/auction ·Dessert Sponsor ($2,000) – includes acknowledgement in the printed program, an announcement from the podium at the event, and two seats at the dinner/auction ·Decorations Sponsor ($1,500) - includes acknowledgement in the printed program, an announcement from the podium at the event, and two seats at the dinner/auction
“We always receive such fantastic support from our entire Cy-Fair Community,” Humphries said. “If anyone would like to volunteer to obtain raffle and auction items, the help is always welcome.”
Through the outstanding support of board members, volunteers, sponsors and the Cy-Fair community, since 1970 the Cypress-Fairbanks Educational Foundation has awarded more than $2.9 million in scholarships to more than 775 graduates of Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, and nearly $687,000 has been donated to CFISD Instructional Excellence Grants. The Foundation’s ultimate goal is to open educational pathways and opportunities for future leaders.
