Imagine taking courses for a Masters in Business Administration at the same time you are trying to wrap up your final year in an undergraduate degree program? And imagine that undergraduate degree is in Engineering Science?

Experience working in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD television studio gave Cypress Creek High School student Rachel Wheat an interest in journalism. Today Rachel produces and anchors the noon broadcast, and anchors the early morning news at KDFX television in Wichita Falls. A 1999 graduate of Cypress Creek High School and a CFEF scholarship recipient, Rachel graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2003, with a 3.8 grade point average and a major in broadcast journalism.

 Just a little over a decade ago, Mindy Harper was graduating from Cypress Creek High School. “There was never a question that I would go to college,” said Mindy, “but there were certainly questions about how I was going to pay for it.”

Spotlight Teacher Lisa Seigle Stewart, Hamilton Elementary, has seen the Foundation from more than one perspective. She was a Cypress Creek High School scholarship recipient in 1982, and now 22 years later was an honored teacher at the Salute to the Stars awards dinner. Lisa has been student, parent and employee in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.
