CFEF recognizes that community support is critically important to the success of schools and that strong public schools are an essential component of healthy communities. Providing support to Cypress Fairbanks ISD teachers through Instructional Excellence Grants helps build good public schools that in turn help develop productive citizens who will contribute to a strong economy. In short, supporting CFISD strengthens student, teacher, school and community success.

CFEF raises funds for grants with the annual Salute to the Stars gala and the Dollars For Scholars program. The Foundation has contributed nearly $945,000 to the CFISD Instructional Excellence grants program since 1998. The 2009 gala will contribute more than  $80,000,  which was distributed during the 2010-11 school year.
