We hope that your New Year is off to a wonderful start, full of good fortune and success. On our end, 2019 is off to an eventful start. On January 2nd, we welcomed our new donor relations manager—Jessaca Rodriguez. In this blog post, we’ll highlight Jessaca’s main responsibilities at our Foundation as well as her impressive background.
Jessaca has hit the ground running. She will focus on cultivating meaningful relationships and partnerships, with a primary focus on endowments. One of the things that attracted Jessaca to our Foundation is our mission. She believes that education is at the heart of the community and she’s thrilled to accept a role where she will have the opportunity to directly impact students in need. She is proud to work for an organization that encourages students to pursue their goals while giving them the means to do so.
While Jessaca is not a former CFEF scholarship recipient as she graduated from Katy ISD, she does know firsthand the impact a scholarship can have on a student. After graduating high school, Jessaca received a small scholarship in the amount of $2,500 annually and it changed her life. It gave her the motivation to push towards her degree and set the standard for her three younger sisters (who are now college graduates, or are about to graduate!). Through her academic experience, she has seen that scholarships are powerful and can make a huge difference.
Jessaca received her degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations from the University of Houston. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked at the American Heart Association. In her five years there, she managed the Go Red for Women campaign in Cy-Fair. On a personal note, in May, she will celebrate her four-year anniversary with her husband Brandon. They have a dog named Marvel. We suspect that Jessaca and Brandon are fans of the comic books! She’s also a movie buff so we’re expecting her to casually drop memorable movie quotes regularly. Last but not least, she used to work at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
We are beyond excited to have Jessaca on the team and we are looking forward to being a part of her successes in the years to come!
