One of the largest non-celebrity golf tournaments in the Houston area, the B.F. Adam Classic is held each May. Since its inception in 1992, more than $2.6 million has been raised to fund Foundation efforts. Save the date for this year’s tournament taking place on May 12, 2016 at the Black Horse Golf Club. In this blog, we will take a look at last year’s tournament as a guide for what to expect this year!
On May 14, 2015, we held the 27th Annual B.F. Adam Golf Classic benefiting deserving CFISD graduates. The tourney included lunch, dinner, an awards ceremony, and a raffle. Despite the rain, our golfers braved the elements and had a ball raising money for CFISD students. In fact, we raised over $139,000 at last year’s event! The lead underwriters for the 2015 tournament were the Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital and The B.F. Adam Family. Platinum sponsors included Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson, LLP, and IBI Group. Lunch and dinner were donated by Towne Lake, a Caldwell Community, Willie’s Grill & Icehouse, and Carl’s BBQ.
To give you a brief history, the tournament was named after B.F. (Bernard Fred) Adam, a lifelong Cy-Fair resident and devoted school board member. He served 24 years on the board. B.F. Adam Elementary on Honey Grove Lane is named in his honor. The 28th Annual B.F. Adam Golf Classic is less than four months away; we will share more about the event as we get closer!
