Since its inception, the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation has dedicated itself to providing high school students with scholarships to pursue higher education. For students interested in applying for our scholarships, this blog will provide you with information regarding the upcoming process.
Save the date! This year’s scholarship application goes live December 1st, 2016 and closes in February. Last year, over 1,200 students applied for scholarships through our Foundation. We awarded 107 scholarships; 50 scholarships were in the amount of $1,500 to Lone Star College.
On an annual basis, in August, we host a Scholarship Recipient and Donor Reception to honor both groups. It also serves as an opportunity for students to meet donors and mentors. Trustees mentor new recipients during their freshman year of college. Since 1970, we have awarded over $7 million in scholarships. We are looking forward to building on that figure this year!
