The Cy-Fair Educational Foundation will hold its annual scholarship reception on August 2nd, 2016 from 7-9 P.M. at The Berry Center. The reception celebrates recipients and donors for the many scholarships that our Foundation provides for students to pursue higher education. This blog will preview this exciting upcoming event.
The annual reception honors current scholarship recipients and gives the recipients and their families an opportunity to celebrate the honor they have received. Likewise, it is an opportunity to thank our donors for their generosity and support. Bringing recipients and donors together is a great way to look to the future while also appreciating the past. In fact, 2008 CFEF Scholarship Recipient David Claros will be the guest speaker at the reception. Recognizing past recipients gives current recipients the chance to hear firsthand how recipients have benefitted from their scholarships.
The transition from high school to college is not an easy one for most students. Increased intensity of study, living away from home, and balancing multiple responsibilities is difficult in the beginning as many students adjust to a much different life. To ease this formative transition, the Foundation provides mentors to our scholarship recipients to help them navigate their freshman year of college.
