Have you bought your tickets yet for Salute to Our Heroes? If you haven’t, don’t wait much longer as this signature event will be taking place on February 8th at the Omni Houston Hotel at Westside. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the program starts at 7 p.m. The event will end at 9:30 p.m. with the dress code being cocktail attire.
Salute to Our Heroes is one of our major fundraising events of the year. It honors the brave men and women that serve or have served our country in the armed forces. Funds raised from Salute to Our Heroes will go into an endowment that allows high school students from CFISD to attend college. This special evening will be highlighted by a silent auction, a seated multi-course dinner, a keynote speaker, a live auction, and other entertainment.
Our speaker this year will be Josh Bleill. After starting his career in corporate America, Josh joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2003. The events of September 11, 2001 heavily influenced him to join the military and follow in the footsteps of his father. In 2006, Josh was deployed to Fallujah, Iraq. While in the Middle East, a bomb exploded under the vehicle he was riding in. He woke up five days later to find out that the two friends riding with him had passed away and that he had lost both of his legs. After extensive rehabilitation and several surgeries, Josh became dedicated to serving as a symbol of hope to motivate and inspire others. We are looking forward to a memorable speech in just a few short weeks.
