October 18th marks the date of Salute to the Stars. One of our major fundraising events of the year, this special evening recognizes CFISD Teacher of the Year honorees. Since its inception, Salute to the Stars has raised more than $3 million. The underwriter of the event is Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union. In this blog post, we’ll describe the close relationship between Cy-Fair FCU and our Foundation.
Cy-Fair FCU has an everlasting bond with education and with our community. The credit union was founded in 1956 when 10 local educators came up with a better way to bank. Fast forward to 2018 and Cy-Fair FCU has become one of the leading institutions in our community. They are a not-for-profit member-owned financial institution. To become a member, you must be a resident, work, go to school, or worship in Harris County or parts of Waller County. Membership is also open to anyone who has immediate family who is currently a member of the Credit Union.
We are grateful for Cy-Fair FCU’s commitment to our Foundation and to Salute to the Stars. As the underwriter of the event, the event would not be possible without their support. Educators and support staff are recognized for their notable work and for their dedication towards nurturing our youth. Lots of highlights abound including a guest speaker, dinner, entertainment, teacher drawings, a raffle, and a live auction. One of the most exciting highlights is that one honoree has the opportunity to win a new car! Sounds a little like The Price is Right, doesn’t it? The new car is sponsored by you guessed it, Cy-Fair FCU!
