On October 17, 2019, the Foundation will host the next Salute to the Stars. For the past 21 years, this event has recognized CFISD teacher of the year honorees. It all began in 1998 with former superintendent, Richard Berry’s vision. His idea was to spotlight the school district’s brightest teachers while simultaneously raising money for the Foundation. Today, Salute to the Stars is one of our major fundraising events of the year. Each campus principal chooses a Teacher of the Year for their outstanding dedication in providing valuable instruction to students. Paraeducators and support staff are also honored for their notable work at their respective schools.
Proceeds from Salute to the Stars provide scholarship funds for students in the CFISD to pursue higher education and also for innovative staff development programs in the district. This year’s gala will be another memorable event with highlights to look forward to like teacher drawings, a guest speaker, a delicious multi-course dinner, a raffle, a live auction, and other entertainment. There will even be a raffle to win a new car! Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the event starting at 7:30 p.m. Dress is black tie optional.
We are grateful that the Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union will serve as our Underwriter again this year. They are also responsible for the car that will be raffled off during the gala. We are thankful that IBI Group will serve once again as our Academy Award Superintendent Sponsor. If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities, we have many options available so that you can find a sponsorship for your company. The same can be said of our advertisement opportunities in the Salute to the Stars program that every attendee receives. For more information or if you have any questions, please reach out to executive director, Marie Holmes, by phone at (281) 370-0144 or by email at Marie@theCFEF.org. You may also donate online or through your phone by texting CFEF to 243725.
Since its inception, Salute to the Stars has raised over $3.5 million. We hope you will be able to join us on October 17th, 2019, for an evening to remember!
